Considered one of the most recognized awards competitions for the entertainment design industry for advertising and communications, The Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards is celebrating its 41st Anniversary this year, and will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Create Advertising’s Premium Rush “Thrill Domestic Trailer 2” is a finalist in the Motion Graphics category, while their humorous “Huggins Online theatrical trailer for The Campaign is a finalist in the Online category. Several FIDM Digital Media Alumni work at this leading firm, including senior motion graphics artist Mario Hernandez, motion graphics producer Ryan Verseman, motion graphics artist Justin Hamilton and creative director for motion graphics Jonathan Gitlin. FIDM Digital Media Alumni Kyle Brosius and Kyle Thorsen, lead animator and lead motion graphic designer, respectively, at Greenhaus GFX worked on the domestic trailer for Anonymous, a finalist in the Motion Graphics category. Leading agency The Ant Farm has been recognized for several pieces including: theatrical trailers for George Harrison and Footloose, game trailers for Aliens: Colonial Marines (teaser) and the Assassin’s Creed 3 “Revolution: In-Cinema Trailer,” along with Campaign nominations for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, (and a stand-alone nomination for its launch trailer) in the A/V & A/V Technique medium, and for the Disney Epic Mickey 2 billboards in the Print & Print Technique medium. FIDM Digital Media Alumnus Jay Trumbull is a games capture director at The Ant Farm who talked about his job in a previous post found here.

The Cimarron Group, where Graphic Design/Entertainment Alumna Angelica Raquid is a junior graphic designer, is a finalist in the digital games category for the Flash Game for A Game of Shadows, along with a Domestic One-Sheet category nomination for their illustrative Case de mi Padre’s poster shown below.
PETROL Advertising, an industry partner to FIDM and employer of multiple FIDM Graphic Design/Entertainment Alumni, has been recognized as a finalist in the Single Standard Packaging category for Xbox game Metro: Last Light; in the Billboard category for their South Park: The Stick of Truth design; in the Illustration category for Darksiders II and Metro: Last Light, with a Campaign nomination for their Call of Duty: Black Ops II building wrap campaign.
Industry partner and former FIDM Instructor Tomasz Opasinski, creative director and founding partner of Rev Creative has been selected for the Transatlantyk 2012 one-sheet as a finalist in the Print & Print Technique medium category. Watch our interview with Opasinski in the Take 5 web series here.
