Typography Tuesday: Gritty Labor Union-Style Graphic Designs by Commoner, Inc.

Commoner, Inc. is a Boston based design studio specializing in brand identity, custom typography and illustration. It’s clear that lead graphic designer Richard Arthur Stewart draws inspiration from traditional Americana labor union-style icons.

“We approach every project equipped with passion, a blue collar and youthful energy,” states the firm on its Website, commonerinc.com. “Our goal is to listen to people’s stories, interpret and consequently visualize them the only way we know how: with pride, honesty and genuine hard work.”

From gritty graphics for local Boston businesses to typographic icons for athletic-wear empire Nike, Commoner, Inc‘s hand-lettering and iconic branding has us feeling inspired. Check out examples below and more here.
