Typography Tuesday: “Design Nerd Flash Cards” for Fellow Graphic Design Geeks

Freelance illustrator and graphic designer Emma Cook of design firm Make Nice in Cape Town, South Africa has designed a set of Design Nerd Flash Cards that reference terms ripe with graphic design geekery.

Cook says on her Website that the flash cards were designed with the “design geek-hipster-interwebber” parent in mind to teach children their ABC’s using culturally relevant examples. For example, “A” stands for the “Apple” iMac instead of the fruit, “B” for Bézier Curve, and so on (see the full deck below).

We have a feeling that if produced, both graphic design parents and singles would be scrambling for a deck.

Formerly of design firm, Am I Collective, Cook has worked with brands such as Nike, HP, and Mini. View her full graphic design and illustration portfolio at makenice.co.za.
