The Logo Design Trends of 2011, Compiled by “Logo Lounge”

Logo Lounge 2011 Trend ReportFor the past nine years Logo Lounge has published an annual logo trend report to showcase the graphic design community’s latest choices in style and colors. The 2011 report reveals a comeback in the use of gradients, an abundance of Earth-inspired logos, and the application of brown as a base color rather than black.

“Every year, it’s worth noting that this is a report on trends, not a recipe book of styles. It is also not a finite list: There are other valid trends out there that are not mentioned here,” says Logo Lounge. “The report should serve you as an ongoing view of where logo design is headed. The word ‘trends’ in itself can have a very negative cast, but in truth, trends aren’t bad. They reveal our growth. It’s our take on them that allows us to move even further forward.”

See some of the results of the 2011 logo trend report below, and read the rest of the list here (along with all of the previous years’). The comments at the end of the report are also insightful, reflecting the graphic design community’s stance that the most effective logos do not follow trends, but remain timeless.
