The Dieline and HOW are pleased to announce the development of The Dieline Package Design Conference – Presented by HOW, a new design conference addressing the challenges and opportunities unique to packaging designers.
The Dieline Package Design Conference – Presented by HOW will take place June 22 – 24 in Chicago, in conjunction with HOW Design Live, the industry’s largest gathering of graphic designers and creative professionals, which encompasses the HOW Design Conference (June 24 – 27), In-HOWse Managers Conference (June 24 – 26) and Creative Freelancer Conference (June 23 – 24).
“The Dieline is a very well respected and powerful brand in the package design market with a website that is visited by designers from all over the world”, said Gary Lynch, Publisher & Editorial Director of the F+W Media Design Community, “By combining the power of The Dieline brand with the power of the HOW brand we will be able to create another world-class event that will inform, educate and inspire designers.”
The Dieline founder Andrew Gibbs, a rising star in the package design industry and the author of Box Bottle Bag, says, “The goal of The Dieline has always been to bring the package design industry to the forefront, and provide a place for the package design community to connect, be inspired, and learn. With our partnership with HOW we are able to do this on a whole new level and provide our readers with a world-class conference that our community deserves.”
The Dieline Package Design Conference will combine The Dieline’s close knowledge of the packaging design community with HOW’s long history of providing targeted education, inspiration and networking opportunities to designers of all stripes. The prestigious 2011 The Dieline Awards Ceremony will take place at the conference, and a gallery of the winning packaging will be available for viewing. The conference’s co-location with three other vibrant design events provides attendees with a wealth of resources, from the Resource Center and My Design Shop to the variety of social happenings that connect and rejuvenate our creative community.
Founded in 1985, HOW extends beyond the award-winning print magazine to include annual events for design professionals, design competitions, digital products and books. HOW helps designers, whether they work for a design firm, for an in-house design department or for themselves, be more inspired, more creative and more successful. HOW unites and engages the graphic design community to network and share information about business, career development, tools and materials, and creative inspiration.
The Dieline was founded in 2007 and quickly established itself as the voice of the Package Design Industry. TheDieline.com is the most visited website on package design in the world with over 2.5 million hits a month. In 2010 The Dieline Awards were launched, recognizing the world’s best package designs.
