Motion Graphics & Title Design Inspiration from SXSW’s Film Design Awards

The annual SXSW Film Conference and Festival hosts a special program, the SXSW Film Design Awards, recognizing excellence in film and television title design, and excellence in poster design, which is great for entertainment graphic designers, motion graphics designers and film post-production pros everywhere.

Motiongrapher recently published some great quotes from this year’s Film Design Awards’ opening panel discussion which included some great motion and film industry pros, many of which have been featured on the FIDMDigitalArts.com Blog. The panel included Ian Albinson of Art of the Title, Ben Radatz of MK12 (Stranger Than Fiction), Gareth Smith & Jenny Lee of Smith & Lee Design (Up in the Air), and Kurt Volk of Troublemaker Studios (Machete).

SXSW’s nominated titles included a broad range of titles representing various design and cinematography styles, each one using compelling motion graphics, sound and music designs, and innovative editing techniques– elements that all work together to evoke a strong emotional response in its viewer.

Below are a few of our favorites. Be sure to check out the full list of nominees, and highlights from the SXSW Film Design Awards panel discussion on Motionographer here.
