Stylesight Pinpoints “Graphic Tape” in Fashion, Interiors as a Current Graphic Design Trend

In our new weekly trend report column dedicated to graphic design trends in apparel, prints and packaging according to leading fashion forecast companies, we take a look at the upcoming trend dubbed “Graphic Tape.”

With access to leading fashion trend reports at the FIDM Library, one of the largest specialized fashion libraries in the United States, students earning their graphic design and digital media degrees at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, stay current with upcoming trends for fashion, color, graphic design and more.

In its Graphic Tape: Trend Alert! report, leading fashion forecast and trend analysis company Stylesight addresses this fun  trend found in fashion, interior and graphic design that makes use of creative and illustrative duct tape. Read details below:

Graphic Design Trend: “Graphic Tape”

“The craze for multi-colored adhesive tape is evolving; the trend has been transforming into fun illustrative and graphic forms. Fashion brands, illustrators and even interior designers are stirred by the mundane material, developing inventive ways of employing tape in design,” states Stylesight, pinpointing the artist Aakash Nihalani who uses vibrant, neon shades of tape into his fine art installations and commercial works, and UK-based illustrator Rob Ryan who transformed his paper cutout pieces onto the sticky medium.
