Motion graphics designers, animators and visual effects aficionados: get ready to embrace a new website dedicated to your niche industry: http://motion.tv.
Described as “the ‘hulu’ for motion graphics, VFX (visual effects), and animation,” this videos-on-demand site offers a small collection of captivating motion graphics, animation and VFX reels- and promises more to come.
The site is affiliated with Motion 2011, an annual conference that brings the “brightest and most creative minds in the motion graphics, visual effects (VFX), and animation industries.”
This year’s Motion conference is being held October 9 through October 11 in Alberquerque, New Mexico at Hotel Andaluz and the KiMo Theatre, and is followed by the Adobe Post Show being held October 12 through October 14. Tickets prices start at $599.00 and you may browse guest speakers at this link.
The adjunct Motion.tv site currently publishes reels divided into motion graphics, animation and VFX categories.
The site also promises to launch a database section similar to IMDb (The Internet Movie Database) that will allow the motion graphics/animation/vfx community to credit themselves with their work on broadcast, film and games. This will make searching for industry professionals much easier, the site says. For example the site will credit professionals like the title designer for The Green Hornet, or the VFX company behind the feature film, Fringe.
We look forward to more updates as this site grows!
