Motion Monday: Digital Studio “Sehsucht” Produces Making-of Videos for MTV Spots

Check out these inspiring animated videos by digital studio, Sehsucht, for a new series of international MTV idents.

MTV is definitely known for its visually captivating advertising, and the animated videos for MTV’s “Group Hug” idents is no exception. The international videos will be broadcast everywhere except the United States starting in April, says Sehsucht on its Vimeo page.

Sehsucht, which directs and produces “cutting edge digital content for clients from the creative industries” like Volkswagen, Montblanc, Google, and Mercedes Benz, strives to “blend commerce with art,” in visually stunning videos that incorporate plenty of motion graphics, animation and 3D elements.

We saw Sehsucht’s motion graphics published on one of our favorite sites, Motionographer, and what caught our attention was the great “making of” videos that the studio produces, like the one shown below for MTV’s “Group Hug” spot.

From the initial sketches and storyboards, to rigging and 3D modeling using programs like Cinema 4D and After Effects, it’s great to see the designers’ vision come to life.

For those earning their Graphic Design degree or Digital Media degree at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising– check out one more behind-the-scenes video by Sehsucht here.

“We strive to create visual spheres that tear down imaginary walls, and not only throw audiences into a state of constant surprise and estatic stimulation, but more importantly – remain as special moments to be remembered and leave everlasting footprints that change the way we think, feel and dream,” states the Sehsucht team on its website www.sehsucht.de.
