Motion Monday: Inspiring & Innovative Snowboarding Videos by Signal’s “Every Third Thursday” Web Series

Creativity knows no bounds on Signal Snowboards’ Every Third Thursday Web series in which the company transforms unusual materials (xylophone keys and Legos, for example) into reinvented snowboards. We’ve been watching the series for a while now, getting inspired by Signal’s innovative spirit and dedication as they tackle unusual and inventive creative projects.

The most recent episode struck an emotional nerve in which Signal developed a custom board that allowed former pro snowboarder Tim Ostler, who suffered an accident that left him paralyzed in 2000, to get back on the snow. It took some ingenious engineering for Signal, who partnered with bike company Crankbrothers to develop this unique and incredible snowboard.

Check out the video below (we dare you not to cry):

FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is thrilled to work with Signal Snowboards in a collaborative industry project with FIDM’s Graphic Design department. Details are top secret, but will be revealed after FIDM’s 2013 DEBUT runway show. In the meantime, check out more inspiring Every Third Thursday videos by Signal Snowboards at this link.
