Giselle Campos is applying her photography, art direction and design skills to her work as a current student in the Graphic Design program at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and also as a creative at her employer, Really Great Magazine. Working in the creative department, Campos had the opportunity to art direct and photograph a fashion spread, for which FIDM Apparel Industry Management Student, Jason Shinn modeled (see below), and she also attended Warped Tour as a press representative to interview and photograph various bands at the festival.
Inspired by “emotion and fashion,” Campos shares spreads from Really Great Magazine that she worked on, below. “I believe we are all works of art, and anyone and anything can be beautiful,” she says.
Really Great Magazine, distributed through Talent In Motion, just launched its first print issue. Previously, it had been published exclusively online and focuses “on the struggles artists face in order to make it into the industry” and showcases young up-and-coming talent, Campos says.
Campos says that the most rewarding part of her experience as a FIDM Student has been “being introduced to all the different aspects of the industry, and the many existing design styles and trends. I believe every aspect of FIDM has helped me grow both as a creative and a person,” she says.
