“I have been a fan of fantasy my entire life– it’s my favorite genre,” says Rappaport who earned his degree in Digital Media from FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in 2008 and is the founder of fantasy entertainment company Pazzaria Productions.
“With my fascination of technology and great fantasy stories, The Legend of the Lost Rose was born,” says Rappaport who wrote the story about Spark, a young frog charged with the task of saving his dying planet.
Rappaport also created the touch-screen animations that allow its readers to interact and move forward through its story featuring illustrations by Patricia Gresham.
“I wanted to create something that was not only a cute fantasy story, but had a great moral, and was also slightly political,” he says. “There’s a good old-fashioned love story in there as well.”
Rappaport plans to release two more books to evolve the “Legend” story into a trilogy.
“The Legend of the Lost Rose features exciting full touch screen animations, and links to fun merchandise items that make you a part of the story. Debut author Daniel L. Rappaport releases his first book in The Legend series – children’s fantasy stories filled with lovable characters, adventure, and an ever-present struggle for self-acceptance and empathy. “
