Watch Inspirational Band Posters Designed from Start to Finish: Videos from DKNG Studios

Dan Kuhlken and Nathan Goldman are the designers behind DKNG Studios in Santa Monica, California where they specialize in entertainment design such as posters, apparel graphics and packaging for musical artists and television shows.

DKNG’s posters represent an eclectic variety of musical artists like The Black Keys, Iron and Wine and Flight of the Conchords. The conceptual thinking, and the duo’s use of metaphoric images (a fusion of their hand-drawn illustrations with digital effects) give each poster a striking effect, layered with intricate details to surprise their viewers.

The design duo has provided their fans with an extra bonus: a peek into their creative process through several short time-lapse videos published on DKNG’s Vimeo channel.

Explosions in the Sky Poster

The most recent video reveals the process behind a poster for the band Explosions in the Sky promoting a concert in Minneapolis. Each short film reveals the painstaking detail and time it takes to develop a single poster. Read more about DKNG and their experience designing this poster here. A limited number of prints are available in their online store, too.
