Movie Posters & Motion Graphics from the Firm that Designed the “Dark Knight Rises” Key Art

Deteriorating buildings are crumbling downward, revealing a bright sky far above gloomy, desolate Gotham city in the movie poster promoting the upcoming Dark Knight Rises film. A second look at the poster reveals a subtle bat-shaped figure being formed out of the towering skyscrapers. The key art teaser poster immediately captures the essence of the film’s mood, the last of three films directed by Christopher Nolan who reinvented the Gotham tales, giving Batman an edgier, somewhat sinister feel for a modern audience with Batman Begins and Dark Knight.

The conceptual thinking behind the Dark Knight Rises teaser poster is effective and representative of the body of work produced by Ignition Creative, the creative agency who designed the poster. Based in Santa Monica, California, Ignition Creative designs key art/movie posters, and also tackles motion graphics, trailers and interactive projects for the entertainment, film and gaming industry. Past projects include design work for Lady Gaga, Final Destination 5, Precious, Kickass and District 9 (see examples below). We’ve got some examples of their work below, but check out Ignition Creative’s main portfolio for more visual inspiration.

This poster was discovered on the IMP Awards Website- a massive online catalog featuring the best in movie poster design. Check out the IMP Awards here.
