Google Released 750 Well Designed Icons That Are Free To Use

Icon lovers unite. Google just published over 750 free icons that are well designed, versatile, and completely covered under a CC-BY-SACreative Commons. This means you are free to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format in addition to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.

Announced last week, the Google Design team are open-sourcing icons as part of the Material Design system icons pack. This pack contains icons that are commonly seen and can be used for many purposes including building apps, designing user interfaces, and developing websites. Their equally powerful regardless of what medium you are designing for.

  • SVG versions of all icons in both 24px and 48px flavours
  • SVG and CSS sprites of all icons
  • 1x, 2x icons targeted at the Web (PNG)
