With less than a week until Super Bowl Sunday, there’s plenty of football-related visual inspiration for graphic designers and digital media artists everywhere we look. As much as we love the slick on-screen animations and motion graphics that dominate the visual landscape of Super Bowl Sunday, these vintage-inspired graphic design pieces caught our attention for their unique, organic qualities.
#1- Custom “San Francisco 49ers” and “Baltimore Ravens” Typographic Posters
The husband and wife duo Nicole & Mike Caradonna of August Park Creative have tackled many amazing typographic poster projects, including custom sports teams prints available on their Etsy shop, including the Super Bowl XLVII contenders below:
#2- Unique Tailgate Party Invitations
Paperless Post offers an extensive selection of e-card invitations for your bowl-watching party guests, including the first graphic shown below, and although graphic designer Danielle Kroll‘s Super Bowl tailgating poster is just a spec, we can’t get enough of the letterpress and halftone dot design elements.
#3- Original Hand-Lettered Football Signs
Mark Zilliox or “Zeke” prides himself on the original, hand-crafted quality of the vibrant collection of signs and prints he offers online and on Etsy. Dedicated to this unique craft since 1975, Zeke also offers behind-the-scenes videos of his creative process.
#4- Super Bowl History and Football Trivia Prints
Graphic design geekery and sports enthusiasm collide at Infojocks.com where you can find unique, well-designed posters and prints on topics like the History of the Super Bowl and The Taxonomy of Team Names (both shown below). Boasting the “art of sports statistics,” each print by Infojocks is ripe with examples of fantastic visual infographics.
