VIEW Conference, the premiere international event in Italy on Computer Graphics, Interactive Techniques, Digital Cinema, 2D/3D Animation, Gaming and VFX has announced its 2014 dates from October 14-17 and is seeking entries to its digital media contests.

Every year VIEW Conference brings together many of the top professionals in the fields of visual effects, animation, sound design, product design, and game development who share their expertise with conference attendees. Filmmaking Contests: Short Movies with Animation or VFX

The VIEW Award for short movies with animation or VFX is open for submission from both student and non-student filmmakers. Award categories include Best Short, Best Design, Best Character, and Best Digital Visual Effects. The winners will be included in the BEST of VIEW DVD which will be showcased by some of VIEW Conference’s exclusive partner festivals. The grand prize winner will receive 2,000 Euros.

VIEW Social Contest: Celebrating the power of technology at the service of society, the contest invites entries in four categories: Best Gameplay, Best Art Design, Best Architecture, and Best Music. The grand prize winner will receive 1,000 Euros.

ITALIANMIX: This contest rewards innovative, creative, and inspiring works by Italian filmmakers or by non-Italians who choose to focus on Italy or Italian subjects in all genres and visual forms. Entry deadline for all contests is August 31, 2014.

All contest winners will be announced during VIEW CONFERENCE 2014, 14-17 October. Winning submissions will be screened during VIEW’s Digital Movie Festival, VIEWFest, which will follow VIEW Conference from 17-19 October in Turin, Italy. Each year, VIEWFest, an international festival and the Italian evolution of Resfest, celebrates 3D cinema and animation.
