Film Friday: Eight Rad Fashion Video Lookbooks for Brands We Love

Luxury fashion brands have been using online videos as a marketing tool for some time now, and we are excited to see a rise in fashion video lookbooks among leading surf/skate/action sports brands as well. In the past year alone, Vimeo has welcomed brands like Hippy Tree, SOCIETY Clothing, and OBEY for our digital media inspiration.

With the rise of mobile shopping, it’s no wonder why the fashion industry has an interest in bringing their own unique story to life through film. Women’s Wear Daily reported an increase in mobile efforts for fashion retailers in a recent article “Big in Digital for 2013″ stating that “mobile commerce is primed to dominate the digital space over the next 12 months.”

Video marketing goes hand-in-hand with lifestyle brands that connect with their consumers online, used not only through fashion video lookbooks, but also interviews with guest artists, collaborators and other lifestyle videos to reinforce their brand image. Great news for digital media students and aspiring filmmakers!

Below, check out eight examples of fashion video lookbooks we love for brands we admire, including JewelMint’s Spring 2013 Lookbook, which was conceptualized and animated by FIDM Digital Media Alumna Diana Arana, a motion graphics designer/editor at leading online fashion company Beachmint.
