FIDMDigitalarts.com Selected as an Official Honoree for Best Visual Design/Aesthetic in 15th Annual Webby Awards!

FIDMDigitalArts.com is thrilled to announce that we’ve been selected as an Official Honoree for the Best Visual Design – Aesthetic category in The 15th Annual Webby Awards.

15_honoreeFIDMDigitalarts.com was designed by Petrol Advertising, a full service design agency with a staff of amazing visual artists of all kind, from graphic designers, web designers and 3-D animators, to illustrators, editors and much more, many of whom are FIDM Alumni.

In an official statement sent to us from the Webby Awards, Executive Director David-Michel Davies states, “With nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 US states and over 60 countries, the Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 10% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.”

Webby Awards are handed out for categories in Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video and Mobile & Apps. Winners are chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization whose members included director Darren Aronofsky, Martha Stewart, Huffington Post Media Group President Arianna Huffington, Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone, musician David Bowie, Internet co-creator Vint Cerf, Virgin Group Chairman Richard Branson, and R/GA Chairman and CEO Bob Greenberg. The online public chooses the Webby People’s Voice winners by voting on their favorite nominees.

Past winners include Amazon.com, eBay, Yahoo!, iTunes, Google, FedEx, BBC News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, NPR, Mashable, Facebook, Twitter, The New Yorker, Wikipedia, Flickr, ESPN, Comedy Central, PBS, The Onion News Network, The Office webisodes, TED.com, and NASA.
