FIDM Museum & Galleries Hosting Q&A with Movie Poster Pros for Students, Alumni & Faculty (3/3)

The Academy Awards® are this weekend and FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising’s Los Angeles campus is buzzing with events celebrating the FIDM Museum & Galleries 20th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition, featuring 100 costumes from 20 films released in 2011, including all five 2012 Academy Award® Best Costume nominees Anonymous, The Artist, Hugo, Jane Eyre, and W.E.

Last night, FIDM hosted its inaugural Fashion Bloggers Party to celebrate, and next weekend FIDM Museum & Galleries is hosting a private event, an Exclusive Q&A with Movie Poster Pros.

The opening entrance to the 20th Annual Motion Picture Costume exhibit displays an impressive wall of movie posters representing all of films represented. For those interested in the art of movie poster design, (especially those earning their Graphic Design degree) FIDM Museum & Galleries is hosting this private event, open to FIDM Students, Alumni and Faculty, on Saturday, March 3. Description: What does it take to sell a major blockbuster movie?

Find out at a private Q&A session with the film industry professionals who design spellbinding movie posters for blockbusters like Priest, Real Steel, The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, X-Men: First Class, Resident Evil: Afterlife 3DThe Woman in Black, Iron Lady and Water For Elephants. At this special event hosted by FIDM Museum & Galleries, you will meet the “movers and the shakers” of the entertainment industry who capture the heart and spirit of a film through posters and major ad campaigns. Hear first-hand what it takes to entice audiences prior to a film’s opening.

This exclusive event is open to FIDM Students and Alumni on Saturday, March 3 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at FIDM’s Los Angeles campus in Room 500.
