Graphic Design & Digital Media Alumni Share Advice at FIDM’s Annual Career Connections Event

Every year FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising hosts Career Connections, an event inviting FIDM Alumni  back to campus to mingle with current students, share information, give career advice, network and discuss their personal careers as creative professionals. This year, FIDM welcomed alumni from many exciting companies including GUESS, Nasty Gal, BCBG,  Trailer Park, JustFab, Zara, Annex Magazine, jcpenny, Express, Create Advertising, and more.

The FIDM Digital Arts team was fortunate enough to catch up with many FIDM Graphic Design and Digital Media grads including Digital Media Alumnus Devonte Glover, who is currently working at Create Advertising alongside Jonathan Gitlin, another FIDM Digital Media Grad. Graphic Design Grads Krislam Chin and Martin Murillo are both working full-time as graphic designers at JustFab, while Angelica Raquid designs DVD and Blu-Ray packaging as a graphic designer at leading entertainment marketing agency, Trailer Park. Joshua Donovan, a 2013 Graphic Design Grad, is currently working as a packaging designer at Max Makeup Cherimoya and describes his job as one that involves creating “elegantly encapsulated cosmetics.” Finally, we caught up with 2003 Graphic Design Grad Jordan McCallen, a designer at Skyrocket Toys who designs various toy packaging you might see on store shelves.
