Featured Exhibition: Photographer William Eggleston at LACMA

By L. Jennings
Do you love kitch?  Do you love vintage signage?  Do you love the fifties…at least in terms of style?  If you are a graphic designer you probably answered yes….yes, yes!  If so, do not miss the Willaim Eggleston: Democratic Camera exhibit at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art).  Eggleston is a master of modern photography, capturing the mundane American suburban culture of the fifties with subdued tension and charm.  Doesn’t that sound delicious? This exhibit includes black and white work from the sixties and some experimentation with color in the seventies.  But wait, there’s more….several films are part of the series including Mystery Train (tonight!)– one of the best films, ever, period (I mean it).  And if you’re a student, you get a discounted ticket price. Yes.

Ticket Prices
$10 general admission.
$7 museum members, seniors (62+), students with valid ID.

Where to Buy
Buy tickets at the museum box office (tel. 323 857-6010) or online. Many programs sell out so try to purchase in advance.

Exhibition Dates
October 31, 2010–January 16, 2011 (so you have no excuse to miss out).
