Featured Event: See FIDM Grad Danny Osterman’s First Solo Art Exhibition at Hollywood Art Gallery, PROJECT

FIDM Alumnus Danny Osterman's art on exhibition at PROJECT Gallery September 27- October 1.

FIDM Graphic Design Alumnus Danny Osterman is being featured at his first solo art show on September 27 at PROJECT Gallery in Hollywood. In addition to his full-time job as a graphic designer for snowboard/skater headgear company NEFF, Osterman also actively explores his interest in fine art– a fusion of pop, graffiti, tattoo and digital-inspired work– under his pseudonym, Noiseyone.

“My art is a fusion of anything and everything that has influenced my style today, from anyone and everyone who has been a part of my life, the [memorable] times I’ve had with them, the places we went, the music we listened to, and the artists I’ve looked up to since the beginning.” says Osterman. “I like to include found objects and other pieces besides canvases. For example I have layered perspective shadow box frames, a motorcycle helmet, as well as a plaster steer skull in my upcoming show. I find confining one’s art to a flat, rectangular surface can be one-dimensional, no matter how good it is.”

The popup exhibition opens on September 27 at the notable art gallery that is coincidentally owned by fellow FIDM Graphic Design Alumna, Sarah Gough. PROJECT has become known for showing work by contemporary artists including Zio Ziegler, Ian Ross and Jeremiah Kille as well as L.A.’s rising stars, muralists CANTSTOPGOODBOY and most recently, HUEMAN. Last spring, exhibitions with world-renowned musicians Serj Tankian and MOBY both garnered widespread acclaim and further established PROJECT’s cutting-edge notoriety, says Gough.

Osterman’s pop up art exhibition came about as a result of his relationship with the owners of HotRod LA, a premier sneaker and clothing boutique located on Westwood in Santa Monica, he says.

“HotRod LA had the opportunity to open a pop-up shop second location at Project Gallery in Hollywood, which in-turn opened the door to have my first solo show at an amazing venue,” he says.
