Downtown Los Angeles was buzzing with gaming fans eagerly rushing to the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) video game industry convention last week– and we were, too! The vibe was electrifying with entertaining activities and stunning visuals around every corner.
Video Game Trailers
We spoke recently with FIDM Digital Media Alumnus Jonathan Gitlin, who is one of many FIDM Alumni working in the entertainment marketing industry. As Head of Gaming, TV, New Media, and Motion Graphics for Create Advertising Group, Gitlin directed some exciting video game trailers that were unveiled specifically for the E3 expo.
“I truly enjoy working in games because of the die-hard fans. Gamers can spend well over 100 hours on a game so they become experts of the franchise. They have high expectations of the marketing and I love the challenge,” says Gitlin, who is also presenting the Digital Media Student of the Year Award at FIDM’s graduation ceremony. “When Create is working on a game, we become obsessed with it. We have to. It’s the only way to deliver the goods.”
Some of the fantastic trailers Gitlin worked on this year were for Dark Souls: 2 and Command & Conquer Generals 2. The Dark Souls: 2 trailer premiered at the Microsoft press conference. We highly recommend checking them out below!
Command & Conquer Generals 2
We weren’t only intrigued by video game trailers this year. Some of the graphic design displays were so visually stunning we couldn’t help but share them. At E3, there are dozens of companies fighting for your attention so the importance of eye-catching design is crucial in having a successful display. Below we have listed some of our favorite displays from the event.
