DETAILS:
A new typography book being published by HOW books is now accepting submissions. Letter, Word, Sentence, Paragraph will break down the study of type into a systematic progression of typographic relationships using content, examples, interviews, and real-life inspiration. Denise Bosler LLC is currently soliciting submissions of typography-based work for this upcoming book being published by HOW books. Any design/art that has a typography focus is eligible. Posters, brochures, logos, stationery, annual reports, Websites, magazines, advertising, packaging, T-shirts, custom typography, custom fonts, you name it, we want it.

DETAILS:
HOW’s longest-running design competition (launched in 1988), this is the only awards program to specifically recognize outstanding promotional work—whether it’s a self-promo to showcase a design firm’s capabilities, a project that touts a client’s goods or services, an announcement for a major life event or a student résumé or portfolio. HOW’s Promotion Design Awards celebrates design work that’s engaging, memorable and effective at moving the viewer toward action.

WHAT’S ELIGIBLE?
HOW accepts actual samples of annual reports, brochures, catalogs, direct mail, book and magazine covers and interior pages, invitations, announcements, greeting cards, letterhead, logos, packaging, posters, print advertising, calendars, wearables, 3D objects and other print projects. We also accept color print-outs of workspaces, signage and other environmental graphic design. We do not accept videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, websites or other interactive work, or digital images or slides of print work. All digital work is eligible in our Interactive Design Awards. Designs may be entered in more than one category. Submit a separate entry and fee for each category. Work must have been created between Jan. 1, 2010, and March 22, 2011.

For many designers, the RDA symbolizes the pinnacle of design accomplishment while at the same time directly reflecting the aesthetics and zeitgeist of the regions included.
