Washington, D.C. based Graphic Designer Andy Babb was recognized by Print Magazine in its 2010 Regional Design Annual issue for his “10 Resolutions for 2010″ postcard designs, and now Babb has released an updated postcard series featuring “11 Resolutions for 2011.” Using illustrated typography and humorous hand-drawn images, Babb incorporates various New Year’s resolutions dedicated to one’s health, leisure, weight loss, etc. He describes the tongue-in-cheek message printed on the back of the postcards stating, “The cards’ sender can wryly suggest different potential goals to the recipient(s). On the cards’ backs, two possible outcomes are given: the Hi-Res option represents a starry eyed outlook on self-improvement ; the Lo-Res option is a more cynical prediction of what might be achieved.” Printed by Grand Palace Silkscreen, the sets are available for purchase here.
Also notable is Babb’s typeface designs featured on his Website. The typeface below called Polygon™ was built using a strict grid of equilateral triangles, says Babb, who includes a breakdown of the grid system used to create the geometric feel of the typeface. A limited edition poster was printed by Grand Palace Silkscreen. The type family is available to purchase from Hype For Type™.
