Fine artist and FIDM Graphic Design Instructor Bill Fogg has created a new art installation, the Billboard Gallery, currently on display from September 10 through October 8 on a 10 x 40 foot sign along the Interstate 15 Highway near Barstow, California. Fogg is perhaps known for his illustrative portrait work (see more in a previous blog post here), but the Billboard Gallery features a different subject: Goddess-inspired art in a colorful, geometric, mosaic-style piece.
“I thought it would be an interesting thing to do– exhibit art in an unexpected way, outside the typical venues,” says Fogg of the billboard placed approximately 25 miles outside of Barstow off of the I-15 South near Harvard.
Inspired by his “usual obsession with faces and weird imagery,” Fogg says he’s curious as to whether anyone will notice and take the time to comment on the work. See more images on Billboard Gallery’s Facebook page here.
