Menachem Krinsky is a Los Angeles-based art director and digital artist whose highly visual movie posters caught our attention here at FIDMDigitalArts.com. Working with a variety of clients, from non-profit organizations to large agency campaigns, Krinsky co-founded Visionary+Flock (V+F), a boutique design shop focused on developing iconic print creative.
“I love starting with a clean empty slate and building it up into something real… taking an idea or concept and working on it until it becomes alive,” he says about his job as an art director.
Krinsky’s portfolio is full of effective examples of typography, logos, advertising, music marketing, brand identity systems and other examples of graphic design. His key art (also known as movie posters), exhibit strong conceptual thinking, a sense of beautiful typography, balance and scale- design elements and principles that are emphasized in FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising’s Graphic Design/Entertainment program.
“A great movie poster is a well-executed, enticing image representing an overall story or emotion that a public audience can relate to,” says Krinsky.
As avid film/entertainment marketing fans, we also asked Krinsky what advice he has for aspiring creative professionals.
“Never underestimate yourself. Make big goals and chase your dreams,” he says. “Use your talent to the maximum, and like one of my older typography posters reads, ‘Live what you love.'”
