San Francisco-based online accommodations hub, Airbnb, has launched a new logo along with a website makeover, supported by a heartfelt marketing message centered around the tagline “Belong Anywhere.”

We think it’s top notch.

“Airbnb is returning us to a place where everyone can feel they belong. Like us, you may have started out thinking you were just renting out a room to help pay the bills. Or maybe you were just booking a bed for a night on an unexpected layover,” states Airbnb, a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world.

The company has redesigned every single page with the user experience in mind, across both web and mobile, to bring its new identity to life.

“Everything from immersive, cinematic photography to typeface to color schemes has been updated to reflect our new look and feel,” states the Airbnb team.

Although some have found an interesting way to interpret the company’s new mark, we appreciate the care and creativity that went into the “Bélo” symbol, which stands for people, places, and love, as explained in the short film below. San Francisco and London-based design firm DesignStudio spent a year to develop the entire campaign, visiting with 18 Airbnb hosts in 13 cities across four continents in its research, reports Logo Design Love.
