Logo design is a challenging and often overlooked aspect of graphic design. The most successful marks are those dynamic enough to represent a brand’s personality, iconic enough to be legible and recognizable across all mediums large or small (think Twitter icons), and the best logos can withstand the test of time with an appearance classic enough to maintain its relevance despite the evolution of design trends (think Shell, Coca-Cola or Girl Scouts).

Students studying Graphic Design at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising focus on Logo/Symbol Design as part of their coursework through which they recreate an existing logo to create a stronger conceptual icon, or translate the brand’s message more clearly.
