Webby Awards Official was selected as an Official Honoree for the Best Visual Design – Aesthetic category in The 15th Annual Webby Awards.

In an official statement sent to us from the Webby Awards, Executive Director David-Michel Davies states, “With nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 US states and over 60 countries, the Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 10% of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.”

Webby Awards are handed out for categories in Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video and Mobile & Apps. Winners are chosen by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization whose members included director Darren Aronofsky, Martha Stewart, Huffington Post Media Group President Arianna Huffington, Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone, musician David Bowie, Internet co-creator Vint Cerf, Virgin Group Chairman Richard Branson, and R/GA Chairman and CEO Bob Greenberg. The online public chooses the Webby People’s Voice winners by voting on their favorite nominees.

Past winners include, eBay, Yahoo!, iTunes, Google, FedEx, BBC News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, NPR, Mashable, Facebook, Twitter, The New Yorker, Wikipedia, Flickr, ESPN, Comedy Central, PBS, The Onion News Network, The Office webisodes,, and NASA.


Graphic Design USA, the news magazine for creative professionals since 1963, announced as a winner in the College & Universities sub-category of its 2011 American Web Design Awards!

GDUSA received more than 1,000 entries in this year’s The American Web Design Awards, “an annual celebration of the power of well-designed websites and online communications to attract audiences, disseminate ideas and information, generate response, and promote products and services.” was selected as one of the 100 winners in this year’s competition, and will be featured in the September issue of GDUSA.

GDUSA Editor Gordon Kaye states: “Online design is now the most dynamic area of professional graphic design, and it takes a rare combination of traditional design talent and technological knowledge to do it well. The American Web Design Awards brings front and center a few select professionals who understand what it takes to excel in this deeply challenging and ever-changing discipline.”

W3 Awards Gold Winner was recognized as a Gold Winner in the Website Features – Visual Appeal category in the sixth annual W3 Awards by the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

Receiving more than 3,000 entries this year, the W3 Awards honors outstanding Websites, Web Marketing, Web Video, & Mobile Apps created by some of the best interactive agencies, designers, and creators 2011 W3 Awards Gold Winner Markworldwide. Entries are judged based on a standard of excellence as determined by the IAVA, and are scored on a 10 point scale. Less than 10% of all entries are recognized as Gold Winners.

“This year’s W3 Winners demonstrate the out-of-the box thinking and creative execution that exemplifies what the Web is all about” said Linda Day, the Executive Director of the IAVA. “On behalf of the entire Academy, congratulations to this year’s W3 Award entrants and winners for their dedication to pushing the limits and finding new ways to raise the bar in Web Creativity.”

The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the Web, and is the “first major Web competition to be accessible to the biggest agencies, the smallest firms, and everyone in between.” Small firms are as likely to win as Fortune 500 companies and international agencies.

The IAVA is an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms. IAVA members include executives from organizations such as Alloy, Brandweek, Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, Fry Hammond Barr, HBO,, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Victoria’s Secret, Wired, and Yahoo!.
